Ahead of the Christmas break, Celia, the Regional Operations Director in Milton Keynes was contacted by one of her friends, Theresa, to ask if she could donate some of her photography to Excelcare homes in the region.
Knowing how much the people we care for love to admire art, Celia immediately accepted and said what a wonderful gesture this was and between them, arranged for Theresa to be present when the first batch of pictures were dropped off at Water Hall Care Home.
Celia kept this as a surprise, so the people living and working at the home were surprised when they arrived with the pictures. Residents came to admire the artwork and see all of the different landscapes on each of them.
When asked why she decided to donate her art to care homes, Theresa said, “I chose to share my images with care homes as I feel many of the residents can no longer enjoy these moments outdoors. I am fortunate enough to do so and I hope they bring a smile to many faces.”
Over the festive period, the other pictures Theresa created were delivered to other Excelcare homes in the region, where they continued to spread lots of joy and smiles.
The artwork Theresa donated has now been framed and displayed in our care homes across Milton Keynes, brightening up walls and providing eye-catching photography for people to admire.
We’d like to say a big thank you to Theresa for her generosity, kindness and for spreading smiles across the region!
