The team room at Queen’s Oak Care Home was recently upgraded from what was a shared storage space, to a bright, modern and useable area where the team can relax during their breaks and lunchtimes.
The renovations came in response to a recent employee survey, where Queens Oak asked for feedback and comments about the home in which they work. One of the common themes which came up throughout the surveys was their wishes to have their team room upgraded.
The management at the home, along with the Regional team, took this feedback on board and began renovating the space, clearing the deliveries that were stored there and transforming it into a space they could all enjoy
As you can see in the photos, the space was once outdated and used to store goods and items of PPE. Now, after the refresh, the space is bright and modern and has useable facilities for team members to enjoy during their breaks. This includes a television with multiple seating areas and kitchenette containing essential items like a microwave, toaster and kettle. When the team were invited to look at their newly renovated area, they were completely blown away
This makeover is part of Excelcare’s commitment to acting on feedback and doing all we can to promote the wellbeing of everyone involved with our services. This new team room will ensure the Queens Oak team have a space to unwind and socialise with their colleagues during break time or when in need of a quiet moment
Seye Fadipe, the Home Manager, said this about the recent renovation works, “Queens Oak has always had a staff room dedicated to male and female facilities. At the last survey, team members mentioned that they would like the staff room revamped, providing a facility that would enable them to relax and regain their strength during break times. At the back of this and rather quickly, redecorating the existing provision was considered but after careful thought, it was decided to provide a larger room with facilities that would meet the expectations of staff. I am pleased that a new staff room has been provided with modern facilities, seating options, a dining table and chairs, television, refrigerator, microwave oven, tea set and cutlery. Team members have commented on how befitting the new room looks and the comfort that it has provided.“
