The people living at Stanley Wilson Lodge Care Home in Saffron Walden love a day trip out of the home, so the team try and plan as many as possible! Recently, everyone ventured out to Scotsdales Garden Centre for afternoon tea.
The team had hired a bus to take everyone to the centre, and they filed in with excited smiles on their faces. It was a beautiful sunny day which made the bus ride even more enjoyable and kept spirits very high!
The afternoon tea was absolutely delightful, and the residents were met with tea and a selection of delicious cakes, which obviously went down a treat. The meal equipped them with plenty of energy to walk around the garden centre afterwards.
Their browse around the garden centre was particularly excited as the Christmas decorations had started to come out, so everybody had a good look at the variety of options, putting them in a festive mood. As well as the decorations, plants and gifts on sale, everyone had a chance to visit the aquarium section. This was a massive highlight for the residents, as they loved feeding the huge fish in the pool!
The residents who live with dementia at Stanley Wilson Lodge do not get the opportunity to go on outings very often, but the team make an effort to organise as many as possible as they know how much they enjoy the visits.
