On February 21st, three team members from Park Avenue Care Home in Bromley travelled to St Christopher’s Hospice to take part in Advanced Syringe Driver Training.
Led by a Clinical Nurse and specialist in end-of-life care, this training aimed to provide information about the best practice when using a syringe driver and the benefits of using this device, especially when delivering end-of-life care.
Team members were grateful for the opportunity to attend this training led by an expert in their field. This level of training helps to ensure team members at Park Avenue Care deliver the best and most effective care to the people who live there.
The training St Christopher’s deliver is varied and doesn’t just support people in clinical roles, they also provide training for Lifestyle Coordinators, to help ensure the activities they host have a positive impact on individuals' health and wellbeing. This is just one example that showcases the support that St Christopher’s provides to Park Avenue through the partnership they have in place.
One of the team members who attended the recent Syringe Driver Training was Home Manager, Charlotte Goodfellow. In response to the training, Charlotte said, "As a Registered Nurse and Home Manager at Park Avenue, I find it important that I am up to date with my clinical skills. I continue to work with the team to provide a high standard of end-of-life care and courses such as this one enables me to have the skills and knowledge to support the nursing team.”
The team would like to thank St Christopher’s for delivering another informative training session that will help to maintain the high levels of care that are delivered at Park Avenue.
