It was a spooky weekend at Goldenley Care Home as the team hosted a Halloween bizarre!
The event was open to members of the community, relatives of residents and friends of the home to come along and join in with ghoulish games and frightening fancy dress competition.
The people living at Goldenley were excited for the Halloween weekend and prepared for the event by choosing their outfits, crafting accessories to wear, and making decorations to display around the home.
Getting involved in these activities helped to bring back fond memories of Halloweens gone by, when their children and grandchildren would dress up and go ‘trick or treating’. They also recalled memories of carving pumpkins and taking part in other Halloween traditions.
To help residents relive these happy memories further, they planned a pumpkin carving session to take place during the spooky weekend spectacular.
On the day, residents watched out the window as people arrived dressed in their Halloween outfits. It created lots of conversation and residents enjoyed guessing what characters each guest came as.
The activities then began, with pumpkin carving starting the celebrations. Some of the children who attended helped to draw the faces on the pumpkins, before residents and team members carved the pumpkins.
Meanwhile, some of the team members lead the younger guests on a tour of Goldenly to see how many sweet treats they could collect.
It was an exciting day at the home, and everyone enjoyed mixing with members of the community and celebrating Halloween together.
