Roselle recently returned to Sweyne Court Care Home to deliver another engaging seated exercise session with the people living there.
These light exercise sessions are beneficial for the people who live there, as they help to increase blood flow, improve strength and boost personal wellbeing. Rosella also makes these sessions fun by introducing props and interactive items, so people usually forget they are exercising due to the fun they’re having.
During this recent session, one lady who impressed both Roselle and the team was Iris. She lives at Lime Court and will be 101 years old in October, yet she seems to do all the moves effortlessly and was one of the fittest people in the room. Iris has lots of fun during these sessions and always has a smile on her face as she takes part with her friends.
During the course of Roselle’s visits, the team said they have seen a really positive change in the people living at Sweyne Court. Not only has their movement range and flexibility improved, but there has also been a noticeable boost to their wellbeing.
Due to the success of these sessions, one of the Lifestyle Coordinators at Sweyne Court is going to be completing an armchair exercise course, so she can deliver these sessions at any time and residents can feel the long-term health benefits of taking part.
