Over the last few months, the in-home salon at Limetree Care Home has undergone some refurbishment to provide updates and make the space more inviting for the people who live there.
The salon is a place where residents spend time relaxing, receiving makeovers and beauty treatments from visiting professionals. Residents love to look after themselves, and get a new trim or a fresh coat of paint on their nails – it really helps to boost personal wellbeing and self-confidence knowing they are looking their best, which in turn makes them feel their best too.
Noticing this, the team at Limetree wanted to ensure the salon’s décor matched the positive feelings people get when receiving a treatment. A lighter, brighter and more inviting space could also encourage other people living at the home to want a treatment in the salon.
With this in mind, the salon was stripped of its equipment and sanded down to give it a fresh, more modern colour scheme. Comfortable chairs were bought to match the new scheme as well as some new equipment and homely decorations to make the space familiar and inviting.
Once it was all together, the home officially declared the new salon, open. Residents enjoyed stopping by and looking around their new studio. There were lots of compliments about the new colour scheme and ‘fancy equipment’. One lady said, “how lovely, I’m looking forward to getting my hair done’.
It’s safe to say the salon makeover was a huge success and residents are excited to indulge in some self-care.
