During these unprecedented times, Excelcare team members have been overwhelmed with the public response to the outbreak and key workers.
People have been donating their time, products and hand-crafted items to keep the care homes running and the residents in good spirits. As we have never been through a time like this, it was unsettling at first to see how people would respond, but we're proud to say we have felt love and support from each of the communities that surround our homes.
The support for key workers has been exceptional too! Many have received personal gifts and received love and support through social media channels, keeping them motivated and caring for others.
There has been an overwhelming effort across the group to support each other. People have been going above and beyond their roles and taking on tasks they may not have done before, to keep life at the homes running smoothly.
To thank these key workers, the Senior Management Team at head office recently started 'The Rainbow Fund'. This is a fundraising effort, of which the proceeds will be used to buy gift vouchers for Excelcare team members on the front-line.
We are proud to say The Rainbow Fund has surpassed its target and a total of £32,260 has been raised so far!
To further thank our colleagues on the front line and bring a smile to their faces each day, rainbow banners have been sent out to each care home and displayed outside. Head Office has also joined in spreading the cheer, with a five-metre rainbow banner proudly on display.
Sam Manning, Chief Operating Officer at Excelcare said, "We wanted to send a little reminder to our teams who are working so hard on the front-line, so that when they walk into work each morning, they can all see a bright reminder that each and every one of them is a superhero!".
To all our care home superheroes, you really have been our rainbow of hope throughout this period. We hope these colourful displays provide some morning cheer and help you to continue the incredible work you are doing!
