Over the last couple of weeks, the residents and team members at Queen's Oak Care Home have been overwhelmed with the support they have received.
Local businesses and individuals in the community have donated gifts, tasty treats and protective equipment, to ensure everyone remains safe and in high spirits.
Many of these donations have been a complete surprise and have helped to keep life running smoothly at the care home. The people living there have been really grateful for the letters and kind messages they have received, so this week, had an idea to create a thank you board to display at the home.
Rainbows have been used through this pandemic to spread messages of hope and brighten up windows around the UK. So the residents decided to follow this theme and create multi-coloured art to show their appreciation.
Arts and Craft activities are well enjoyed at the home, so the residents wasted no time in creating their colourful pictures. They used pens and pencils to make their designs stand out, before writing messages of thanks around the edge.
When the rainbow art was complete, team members mounted them onto a board that can be displayed at the home. The colourful pictures will definitely attract attention and hopefully provide some gratitude to the wonderful people who have helped Queen's Oak.
We hope to welcome our visitors back soon, so they can see this display for themselves and read the touching thankyou messages left by the residents.
