As the big day approaches, our homes have been spreading festive cheer and decking their halls with decorations for the Christmas season. At Queens Oak Care Home in London, they made sure that everybody at the home got involved!
Recently the team at Queens Oak began decorating their Christmas tree, and some of the people that live at the home were eager to lend a helping hand.
Residents Vera and Joan were actively engaged in choosing the colours of the baubles and the lights, and even recommended a good place to keep the tree. They both decided that the tree would look best in the third-floor lounge, and so the Lifestyle Co-ordinators worked to help them achieve this.
During the decorating session, everyone had fun discussing their past Christmas experiences, and sharing some stories of their own. Vera and Joan had a great time, saying that they love the Christmas festivities. Joan mentioned that she used to have her family come around for an overnight stay so that they could all decorate the house together, so this brought back great memories of that time.
Overall, the Christmas tree decorating session was a great success. This can be seen not only through Vera and Joan’s joy, but through the beautiful finished result!
