Primrose Croft care home has been busy painting and restoring their summer house to brighten up their garden and have a relaxing social space to enjoy together. This, of course, has been painted in rainbow colours in recognition of the support and love everyone has been giving each other whilst in lockdown due to COVID-19.
Residents have now turned their creative eye towards other parts of the garden, where they can introduce more colour to go along with the rainbow of hope theme.
After putting ideas forward a plan was put in place and everyone at Primrose Croft got to work. The top of the garden fence was painted in rainbow colours as was the top of the raised wooden flower bed and hand railing.
Residents then got creative painting the many flower pots adorning the garden, choosing their colours, discussing how inviting the garden will look when finished all whilst enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.
On one side of Primrose Croft, there are a variety of plain white butterflies decorating the wall, each of these was then lifted down for everyone to paint in bright colours, Shaun the maintenance man then finished them up by painting the intricate lines on each of them. There are also a variety of gnomes spread around the garden that had become very weather-worn and shabby, so resident wasted no time restoring them to their former glory.
The garden is now a much more inviting area full of bright and interesting features. Residents had a fun time putting their ideas into practice designing their garden their way. Now everyone gets to admire their creative achievements whilst enjoying an area that has become a tranquil and relaxing space for residents and team members to take some time out. Solar lights have also been added to the summer house to illuminate it in the evenings creating a calming glow at the end of the garden.
Derek who spends a lot of time looking out into the garden said, it looks amazing, everyone has worked so hard and changed a very dull area into a bright appealing spacious working area for everyone.”
We agree Derek and we can’t wait to see what project everyone at Primrose Croft comes up with next!
