The people living at Abbot Care Home in Harlow recently spent time preparing for the Queen’s upcoming platinum jubilee by making some themed door wreaths.
Everyone is looking forward to celebrating this momentous milestone in the Queen’s reign and so, the team have been introducing activities to the schedule to help prepare for the celebration party they have in a few weeks.
For this activity, the team laid out a variety of different textures, decorative items and fabrics that people could use to make jubilee wreaths they could put on their doors. Some of the decorative items had the British flag on them, which people incorporated into their designs to keep them in theme with this upcoming jubilee.
Throughout the session, people shared stories about royal milestones they have experienced throughout their lives, which included other jubilee celebrations and parades they have attended.
Everyone had lots of fun during the craft event. It raised many smiles and lots of laughter which put everyone in a good mood and got everyone excited about the upcoming Jubilee celebrations.
Over the next few weeks, the team will be hosting more jubilee themed activities in preparation for their celebrations at the beginning of June.
