It was an emotional week at Peartree Care Home this week saying farewell to Hyacinth (Team Leader) after 20 years of service.
Hyacinth joined Excelcare’s Peartree Care Home back in the year 2000 and has since flourished in her role, proving popular with the residents and delivering person-centred care to the people living there. She’s been a big part of life at Peartree and everyone was very sad to see her go, so team members set up big surprise send-off to wish her farewell.
Excelcare CEO, Ozzie Ertosun, joined team members to say a personal thankyou to Hyacinth for all her hard work and wish her well. Cakes and treats had been set up in one of the lounge areas and when a team member brought Hyacinth through, she was so surprised to see everyone gathered to wish her farewell. Tears of happiness and sadness were shared and Hyacinth said how she would happily stay for another 20 years if she wasn’t relocating out of London.
As people chatted amongst themselves and enjoyed the treats on offer, Ozzie said, “It’s a loss to Peartree Care Home that Hyacinth is leaving. She has been a very important support at Peartree through many years of change and improvements. Her commitment and loyalty is going to be missed.”
They took a picture together to mark the occasion before Hyacinth had a few words to say herself, “It’s only because I'm moving away that I have to leave. I have truly enjoyed being part of this family, it was a good day when I first walked into Peartree for a job.”
Here at Excelcare, we’re proud to have many long-serving team members so it’s always sad when they move on.
We wish Hyacinth the very best for her future and life outside of London, you will be sorely missed by us all and those you have supported throughout the years. You’ll forever be part of our family!
