The people living at Park Avenue Care Home in Bromley recently gave a warm welcome to Jean when she moved into the home.
When anyone moves into Park Avenue, residents like to make them feel welcome by showing them around, introducing them to their friends and inviting them to take part in activities with them. This also provides people with the opportunity to make new friends and ensures everyone feels like a member of the family!
When Jean recently moved into Park Avenue Care Home, the people living there wasted no time in ensuring she felt welcomed. After saying hello and introducing themselves, they told Jean about a craft session they had planned and invited her to take part.
This made Jean smile and she immediately accepted the kind offer, as she too had an interest in arts and crafts.
With help from the team, the group painted shapes in different colours that would be used to form a colourful display. As they painted, people enjoyed learning more about Jean, her life and her interests, which helped to develop relationships from their very first meeting.
Jean had a smile on her face throughout the session and was delighted to learn more about the team and people living there in such a friendly and relaxed way.
Since this session, Jean has made many friends and is enjoying life at Park Avenue. We’re sure she will make an appearance in lots more activity sessions with her newfound friends at Park Avenue.
