A new furry friend made quite the commotion at Park Avenue Care Home in Bromley recently, when a member of the team brought in her new puppy!
The 8-week-old puppy, named Elsie Blue, belongs to Regional Director Louise, and has charmed many of the people living and working at Park Avenue Care Home.
When Lifestyle Coordinator Gladys met Elsie Blue, she thought about how much some of the people living in the home love dogs, and so asked Louise if she could bring her around for people to meet. Louise said yes, and so Elsie Blue went on her own little tour around the care home!
Prior to the pandemic, the home used to have a Pets as Therapy (PAT) session once a week, so it’s safe to say that the people in the home really love having a pet around! Their smiles shone as Gladys brought Elsie Blue around, and everybody wanted to have a stroke.
Alan, one of the residents, was a particularly big fan. He has owned many pets in his life, and so was delighted to interact with such an adorable puppy. Pets can be so great for mental wellbeing and are often an instant mood lifter, and Blue Elsie proved to be no different.
The team and the people living at the home are hoping for more visits from Elsie Blue in the future!
