Odelia and her colleagues from Okeley Care Home in Essex have recently been celebrating as she achieved a commended award at the Essex Care Sector Awards.
These awards, which are also known as The Prospers, are hosted annually by Essex County Council and celebrate excellence in care across the county. Their awards cover a range of different roles and award people and teams who have shown an outstanding contribution in their field.
Odelia is a Lifestyle Coordinator who is known to host engaging and meaningful activities for the people who live at Okeley. She is very talented in her role and so earlier in the year, her colleagues nominated her for an Activity and Wellbeing award at The Prospers.
After reading her entry, the judges were impressed and announced her in the shortlist. This is a big achievement in itself, so she celebrated and received congratulations from her colleagues. As she was on the shortlist, Odelia was invited to attend the star-studded awards with her colleagues at the Cressing Temple Barn.
There was lots of delicious food and drink for the team to enjoy as they waited for the winner of the Activity and Wellbeing Award to be announced.
There were lots of talented Lifestyle Coordinators up for this award, so the competition was tough, but Odelia was delighted when she was announced as commended in the category!
Odelia was handed a framed certificate and invited to the stage for a picture! It was a proud moment for herself and her colleagues at Okeley. They were each delighted that her talents had been recognised and rewarded.
Well done, Odelia, you truly deserve it.
