Margaret has been a resident at Hunters Down Care Home for the last few years and during this time, has received regular visits from her husband of over 60 years, Terry. The couple are still just as much in love as the day they met and have never really been apart from each other.
Terry visits the care home most days to see Margaret and make sure she's okay, but with visitation being limited due to the current pandemic, he's had to put his usual visits on hold.
This is obviously upsetting for them both, especially during this pandemic as they are usually there to comfort and support each other. Terry is a very thoughtful man though and knowing how this would impact his wife, he wrote a love letter for her, attached a personal poem he had also written and sent it to her at Hunters Down.
This was a complete surprise for Margaret, so when Care Manager, Myrna delivered and read them out to her this week, she decided to capture the special moment on film.
As you can see, she was delighted to hear from Terry and was especially touched by his kind loving words. It gave her great comfort knowing her husband was well, staying out the way of Coronavirus and looking forward to seeing her again. It also brought back memories from when letter writing was the main way to keep in touch and encouraged her to send one back!
