‘The Letter B’ pub sends a kind donation to the residents of Aliwal Manor
When Aliwal Manor finds itself receiving a donation, from a pub in Whittlesey, there will be an answer, Letter B!
Recently, Aliwal’s local pub ‘The Letter B’, raised £400 to put in their residents comfort fund through their regular pub quiz, which is now held over Zoom. The Whittlesey based pub has been donating to places in their local community for over 14 years by running these quizzes.
Aliwal Manor’s Home Manager, Andrea has said that this recent donation was an amazing gesture, “We are absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity on display by the locals.”
Since the lockdown, the pub has continued their quizzes on Zoom every Sunday. Anyone can donate by going online and making a donation of their choice. The total amount that the Letter B has managed to raise for their local communities over the years is a staggering £80,000.
Landlord Bruce, who has ran the Letter B pub for nearly 14 years said, “It’s everyone who has helped to raise the money for charity not just me, all the locals have done an amazing job.” The residents said that it’s “fantastic” how people have been using Zoom to carry on the socialising aspect of the pub quiz and have continued to raise money for so many good causes in their local community.
Everyone at Aliwal Manor would like to thank the local community that has supported the quiz and raised the money to put in their comfort fund. The donation was very well received by the residents, who are already wondering about what they could organise with it.
