Glennfield Care Home welcomed an attractive new addition to their garden this week in the form of a small purple bridge.
This purple bridge was a prize the people at the home chose after winning the Excelcare Plantathon competition earlier in the year. This encouraged residents to decorate their garden space with a chosen theme with the most inventive, eye-catching design winning the competition. With many green-fingered residents and Glennfield and lots of hard work, they created a beautiful outdoor setting which landed them top of the leader board.
Residents love taking part in these group-wide contests as they add some friendly competition to their favourite activities and the chance to win a prize motivates many people to get involved!
Susan, the gardener who visits Glenfield to keep their space looking full of life, helped to fit the bridge over a pebbled area and everyone was happy with the final result!
It’s a shame that visitors can’t stop by to admire the beauty of the garden at this moment in time, but they certainly look forward to showing it off when restrictions ease.
The latest group-wide competition to be announced is a Christmas decoration contest. Homes have been challenged to light up the outside and inside with Christmas lights, to help spread some extra festive cheer to those living there and to passing members of the community. The winning region will win large interactive activity tables, so the team and residents of Glennfield are collaborating to see if they can take first prize home again!
