The Pancake Day celebrations at Queens Oak Care Home in London went down a treat, thanks to the team who made an effort to keep it special.
The people living in the home were amazed to see a variety of fresh, homemade pancakes with different toppings and fruits to choose from, accompanied with a nice hot drink. There was chocolate sauce, syrup, and the classic sugar and lemon to make sure that there was a topping for everyone.
The Pancake Day festivities culminated in some lively discussions and reminiscence of Pancake Days in the past. One resident mentioned how she used to make her own pancakes for her kids, and how she taught them how to make a good pancake.
But the fun didn’t just stop at pancakes! During the celebrations, everyone was also able to enjoy a zoom accordion singalong session with Alex Southgate. Residents really enjoyed themselves, and spent their time dancing, clapping and singing along with Alex, the host of the show.
Between the pancakes and the entertainment, the afternoon left many a smile on people’s faces. Everybody said that they had an enjoyable afternoon and look forward to the next celebration day… Whatever that may be!
