The team at Fitzwilliam House Care Home recently celebrated their summer party with afternoon tea.
Afternoon tea is a traditional British delicacy and something that dates back as far as Victorian times. It’s also something that residents have enjoyed throughout their lives, so when they sit down for afternoon tea at Fitzwilliam House, it brings back lots of happy memories from the past.
This afternoon tea was a little different to the ones they usually host, as they welcomed entertainer, Harri, to sing and make it a proper party! Family members and friends were also invited along to celebrate the day and make happy memories with their loved ones.
The kitchen team were on hand to freshly prepare all of the food, which included a variety of sandwiches, scones and lots of delicious cakes.
Everyone agreed the food was delicious and that Harri put on a brilliant performance. Whilst they weren’t eating, they were singing along to the songs they knew and moving along from their chairs.
It’s safe to say the afternoon tea party was a huge success. It was filled with laughter, smiles and pleasant conversation, as well as delectable food and drinks!
Due to the success of the session, the team may host another tea party soon and create more happy memories with families and friends.
