Christine, the Home Manager at Goldenley Care Home received a call from the local Fish and Chip shop this week, offering to supply the home with some complimentary food.
After speaking with the manager, Christine heard about their mission to support local key workers and show their appreciation for the work they’re doing. It was a lovely offer and one Christine knew would surprise and delight the team on their break.
When the delivery arrived, it was clear that there was enough for everyone, so the residents enjoyed a fish and chip lunch from the takeaway too. This is a favourite amongst the people living at Goldenley as its familiar and the taste can bring back memories of family trips to the beach.
Helen, one of the residents at Goldenley, was especially excited for lunch and proudly posed for a picture before tucking in.
As they all sat and ate, connected memories were recalled and compliments about the food were shared. It was really nice surprise for the residents and clearly well enjoyed as everyone emptied their plate.
The delivery was also pleasing for staff and showed how much their hard work is valued by the community. This, in turn, keeps the team inspired and motivated to continue delivering high-quality care during these difficult times.
Thanks to the team from Fishnchickn for surprising the home with a tasty lunch and showing your appreciation to key workers in the community.
