On Friday 13th May 2022, Excelcare launched a ‘Wellbeing Wish’ initiative across the group, inline with Mental Health Awareness Week. Now, after eight months of granting team members’ wellbeing wishes, we look back at some of the wonderful things people have wished for.
The Wellbeing Wish initiative encouraged each home to put out a ‘wellbeing wish box’, where team members could write down something that would improve their wellbeing, up to the value of £100. Each month, one wish is drawn from each box and the lucky person has their wish granted. The objective is not only to show how much everyone’s hard work is appreciated, but also to deliver smiles to each team members.
Over the past eight months many amazing wishes have been granted across the group, and it has been great to see the impact this has had on team members. The wishes have varied from home to home, with Ellie from Castlemead Court asking for money for her upcoming holiday, and Reshma from Primrose Croft asking to donate the £100 to charity. It has been such a wonderful initiative, in which everyone has been able to learn more about their colleagues and their interests by seeing what they’ve wished for.
Josh Potter, PR & Marketing Business Partner, recently had his wish granted at Support Office, where he had asked for a spa day for his sister and her friend, so they could have a day off of mum duties. “It was a nice surprise for my sister who has been balancing work with caring for her twin girls,” Josh said, “a day in the spa will give her some time to recharge. Thanks Sam and Ozzie!”
Chief Operating Officer Sam Manning, who introduced the scheme, said “It has been wonderful to see the wellbeing wishes spread so much joy across the family. Each and every team member is so hardworking and dedicated, and these wishes are just a small token of our appreciation for the work that they do every day. It has also been so wonderful to see how many people have used their wishes entirely selflessly, with some donating the money to charity, using their wishes to surprise family members, or even wishing for things for other Excelcare team members. It’s a true testament to the kind and caring nature of our Excelcare family and it brings me so much joy to see it.”
