Ahead of the easter break, some of our care homes based in Essex were contacted by local businesses and groups with offers to donate some easter treats.
The people living and working at the homes were delighted with these generous offers and gladly accepted the easter treats.
At Longfield Care Home In Maldon, Janette and Donna from the local Women’s Institute came to deliver some delicious easter treats. These were generously donated by members of the Women’s Institute to different places in the community.
When Janette and Donna arrived, they were surprised to see how many delectable treats they bought with them. For many, seeing all these easter treats brought back happy memories from past easter celebrations. It was a very kind gesture and residents enjoyed snacking on the chocolatey treats over the easter weekend.
At Goldenley Care Home, Lifestyle Coordinator Faith had been contacted by some of the local shops in her community, offering to donate some of their Easter stock to the people who live at Goldenley. This was an offer Faith gratefully accepted and decided to invite a couple of residents with her to collect the deliveries. Together, they traveled to Morrisons, The Coop and Food Warehouse, where they met members of the team and collected a variety of Easter treats. During the meetings, residents enjoyed chatting with the team over a cup of tea and thanking each of them for the generous donations.
Not only was this an opportunity to thank the generous people in their community, but also made for an exciting day out in the town, meeting people who live locally.
When the group arrived back at Goldenley, the other people living there were delighted to see all the special easter treats they brought back with them. It raised many smiles around the home and got everyone excited for the planned Easter Sunday celebrations.
Both Longfield and Goldenley would like to thank their communities for being so generous and thinking of the people who live in their homes. Their generosity helped to boost morale and well-being over the Easter weekend.
