The people living at Etheldred House Care Home in Cambridge were recently greeted with an amazing surprise thanks to Elizabeth Mackenzie, the sister of the home’s weekend receptionist.
Elizabeth’s sister Eden works at Etheldred as a weekend receptionist, and greatly enjoys conversing with the people living at the home. Recently, Eden learnt that resident Shirley really loves horses. So, Eden got to work and messaged her sister to see if she could stop by with her horse, so Shirley could see one in person.
Not only was Elizabeth more than happy to fulfil this request, but she brought a friend along with her so the residents could see multiple horses! The riders paraded their horses outside the window of the home, and the team inside called the people in the home over so that they could look at the horses through the glass.
The home was filled with buzz as many watched and waved excitedly through their windows. They had not been expecting it at all, so it was such a lovely surprise. Shirley enjoyed every moment that she got to spend watching the horses, and it truly made her day.
This was such a lovely gesture from the Mackenzie sisters, and everybody at the home was so grateful for it.
