During a recent conversation with the people living at Goldenley Care Home in Essex, Lifestyle Coordinator Faith learnt that they had really missed live entertainment over lockdown. So, she decided to book in Brian Shaw: a singer who has been entertaining the home for many years.
Brian was so pleased to be back in the home again and was met with a lovely warm welcome. There were smiles all around as he serenaded the residents, with some of them dancing and even singing along. Faith wanted to get everyone involved as much as possible, so she got them out of their seats as much as she could, having a boogie along with them!
Once Brian was done, the music didn’t stop there! The people living in the home were treated to a virtual performance from one of their favourite entertainers, Alex Southgate! Alex played the accordion for everyone on one of the home’s screens, and everyone danced and sang along once again.
It was a day full of music, which was much appreciated by everyone. Evelyn, David and Aubrey were particularly enthusiastic about what a fantastic day they had. Even Maddie, who is usually quite quiet, made sure to thank the team and let them know that she had a brilliant day.
