There was a big party to be had at St Fillans Care Home in Colchester as everyone celebrated a milestone birthday!
Cathy, one of the women living at the home celebrated her 100th birthday. With it being such a momentous birthday, the team knew that they had to make it extra special, so they pulled out all the stops to ensure that her day was celebrated properly.
A party was thrown at St Fillans with Cathy’s friends, family, team members and the people living at the home. There was no chance that anybody could forget her age, as the home was decked out in centennial decorations, including a large pink helium balloon, frosted cake and shiny birthday badge that all said ‘100’.
Cathy truly enjoyed her party, smiling throughout, and smiled even wider when she received her special telegraph from Her Majesty the Queen.
Later on in the celebrations, Cathy was presented with her cake, and everybody sang a hearty rendition of Happy Birthday. Once they were done, someone asked Cathy what the secret is to making it to 100 years young. Cathy advised that we should all “Live each day as it comes and never ever grumble”.
