Throughout the pandemic, the people living at Castlebar Care Home have been enjoying lots of Zoom calls with their loved ones, friends and entertainers who in usual times would perform at the home. These have included live sing-along sessions and performances from piano players, which have certainly helped to keep individual wellbeing boosted.
More and more local organisations are starting to adapt their services so they can be delivered virtually. The Museum of London is one of the latest organisations to do this and start offering tours of the museum via Zoom.
Residents of Castlebar love visiting museums, so they were all excited to experience this using Zoom.
The team set up the video call on the TV in the lounge and residents took their seats to watch the virtual tour. This tour focussed on rivers and waterways from around the world, so the team from the museum showed pictures from famous rivers and narrated over the top with facts.
The people of Castlebar really enjoyed the session and learning lots of interesting facts about the history of waterways around the world. There was also a group singalong session which team members joined in with too and made for an enjoyable end to a lovely morning.
The team at Castlebar would like to thank Amy, Marina and Luke for delivering the session and everyone looks forward to many more virtual sessions in the future.
