On Friday 5th March, the people living at Castlebar Care Home in London were delighted to have Rudy from Live Music Now perform some songs for them.
Live Music Now is a UK-wide initiative, created by Yehudi Menuhin in 1977. They know that music can make a big difference to people lives by lifting spirits and connecting friendships. So, every year, the musicians involved work with their local communities to deliver thousands of interactive music programmes in Care Homes, hospitals and schools.
Over the last year of lockdown, Castlebar have been making use of Zoom for entertainment purposes and have had some great entertainers perform for them. The residents have been loving the regular Zoom sessions, so they were very excited for Live Music Now to perform.
Everybody at the home had a wonderful afternoon with Live Music Now, clapping along to the music. Some people living at the home even took to the dance floor, with the Castlebar team ready and willing to dance along with them. The performance truly lifted spirits, and the room was filled with joy and laughter throughout.
The session with Live Music Now was a resounding success, and the home are looking forward to hosting more Zoom sessions in the future.
