The Caring Foundation is a private, family-run foundation that was formed in January by Richard and Patricia Caring. The couple own international hospitality businesses, including the IVY collection, so have connections to the catering sector all around the world.
It was formed after the announcement of COVID-19, as Richard and Patricia could see the devastating impact it was having on other countries and wondered what they could do to help.
They quickly saw that NHS workers were being relied upon more than ever and with shops announcing closures, they knew it may be tricky for vulnerable people to get the food they need.
Starting The Caring Foundation aimed to provide a solution to this and since launching, it has been providing high-quality meals to NHS workers, healthcare staff, care homes and vulnerable people around the UK.
The team at Westport Care Home was one of the latest homes to receive support from the Caring Foundation. They stopped by with a large delivery of hot meals from the IVY collection and connected businesses for team members to enjoy on their break. There was a variety of different meals in the package including Lamb Bolognaise Macaroni, Thai Chicken and Rice and Duck & White Bean Cassoulet with Mash Potato.
The team were delighted with the delivery, as it meant they could enjoy a pre-prepared hot meal on their break. With all the extra hard work and support they have been offering, this hot meal made their day a little easier and boosted wellbeing, knowing that people are thinking of them.
The work that the Caring Foundation is doing is really helping to support frontline workers and those living in care around the UK. They don’t receive any profit from this service, it’ simply done out of the kindness of their hearts which is a true inspiration for all!
Thank you to Richard, Patricia and everyone else at the Caring Foundation for going above and beyond to support Westport Care Home and the wider industry, you’re true heroes!
