Ashlyn Care Home joins Creative Mojo project for ‘National Day of Arts in Care Homes’
The 24th of September is the ‘National Day of Arts in Care Homes’. To help commemorate this date, the residents of Ashlyn Care Home recently started a new arts & crafts project called ‘The Sunflower’. This project has been devised in conjunction with Creative Mojo, and will be drawn in as a competition entry.
As it was quite an ambitious project, the residents at Ashlyn have all been working on this piece in instalments as a group activity. As a result, the team at Ashlyn have also enjoyed sharing much of their previous “work in progress” on Facebook.
Last Saturday, in the dining room upstairs, the residents project came to it’s natural conclusion. This brought the Sunflower project to a satisfying end, as residents looked back with pride on what they had accomplished to date. The Ashlyn residents were so proud and happy during the process of this project, with many of them enjoying the socialise aspect of collaborating on it with their friends at the home.
Afterwards, the team members took pictures of the artwork and sent them to Creative Mojo. Now that the project is over, the residents beautiful Sunflower art has already been put on display the home, for everyone to see and enjoy. All the residents had a fantastic time and it brings them so much immense satisfaction to look at their finished product.
The Ashlyn Care Home team would like to say well done to the residents for creating such a great looking project, and they wish them all the very best of luck for the results of the competition!
