Excelcare-CQC-Inspected-and-Rated-Outstanding-Logo.pngWarm and welcoming, with excellent facilities and exemplary standards in care, Water Hall is a beautiful care home in Bletchley, just outside of Milton Keynes.

The home provides a range of respite care and long-term residential, residential dementia, frail nursing and end of life care. Our kind and compassionate team provide outstanding care and work closely with Milton Keynes Hospital to provide rehabilitation care too.

Our care home has been purpose-built and thoughtfully created to offer residents the very best care, accommodation and lifestyle, with light and spacious communal areas and homely bedrooms, complete with en-suite bathrooms for privacy and independence. There really is something for everyone here, from interesting activities, an engaging and friendly community and team members who listen and care with their hearts.

It’s our team members, many of whom have been with us for years, and the unique people who live here who make Water Hall the wonderful place it is.

Dedicated and committed, our team live nearby in places like Leighton Buzzard, Lakes Estate and Newton Ley. This helps us to be at the heart of our local community, as well as caring for our residents in a way that encourages dignity and individuality.

As a family-owned care home, we understand that moving a loved one to a care home can be a difficult time for families. Our doors are always open at Water Hall. We have an anytime visiting policy and we encourage friends and family to get involved at every opportunity. We are always here to talk, listen and help put minds at rest, because residents’ families are part of our family too.

“Excellent care provided by professional and compassionate staff. Carers and management take into consideration the unique needs of the resident, interacting with them, treating all with dignity and respect. Staff and management go the extra mile to ensure where possible, all requests are met. Residents are encouraged and supported to become involved in activities. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home to friends. A fine example of what a care home should be.”

An uplifting and positive place to live

Water-Hall---Excel-Care-3343.jpgFor 30 years, family-run business Excelcare has been operating care homes that offer a comforting and homely atmosphere. Water Hall is a great example: our purpose-built home has been designed with comfort, a sense of community and a one-to-one approach to care in mind.

The building has been carefully planned to provide lots of choice. There are bright, inviting areas for socialising and making new friends as well as places to relax in peace. Our lounges, dining rooms and lively activities rooms are usually filled with the sound of chatting and laughter as residents and visitors regularly come together for fun activities and events. Alternatively, there is plenty of space to get lost in a good book, doze off or have a quiet natter and a cuppa.

Our spacious bedrooms all have en-suite bathrooms for independence and privacy, and we encourage people to bring personal items along to make their living area familiar, homely and personal to their own tastes. Every area of our care home, including our lovely and fully secure garden, is wheelchair-friendly, enabling residents to choose how and where to spend each day in our home; embracing their freedom and independence.

Visitors are welcome each day – friends, family and loved ones are in fact actively encouraged to join in with the many events and activities held here – we love to welcome them in, as well as seeing friendly faces from our local community. Visitors often comment on our warm, inclusive atmosphere here and that’s because of our personalised approach to care. Water Hall is a place where outstanding, compassionate care is always delivered with dignity and respect.

Living well every day

Water Hall - Excel Care-3642.jpgInspiring and fun, living at Water Hall is an adventure every day. Our team dedicates themselves to helping residents to lead an active, contented and varied life with the chance to spend their day doing what they enjoy – as well as trying new activities in a supportive atmosphere.

Our wonderful Lifestyle Coordinators work closely with residents and their families to create a programme of daily activities, entertainment and engaging social get-togethers that promote stimulation, creativity and sociability. There's always something new or a favourite hobby from the past to get involved in.

Here at Waterhall, we run arts and crafts sessions, card and games afternoons, movie screenings and pamper sessions in our beauty salon. There are light exercise sessions, music and dance-along afternoons as well as a Coffee Club, which is simply about getting together to chat and eat homemade cake. We never let the chance to celebrate go by and honour everything from Christmas to Pancake Day, to residents’ birthdays, inviting family members along to join in the party. As long as we can hear friendly chatting and laughter, we’re more than happy.

Water Hall is not short on quiet spaces either. Residents can pop off for some me time, reading a good book or just dozing in the warmth. We use our quiet zones for reminiscence therapy, so those living with dementia can share stories of their past, which we know from experience relaxes and improves wellbeing. It’s highly therapeutic, allowing people to achieve a fulfilled sense of self. Our Quiet Room also doubles up for private birthday parties, anniversaries or family meals and can be reserved in advance.

We get out a lot too, regularly visiting historic Bletchley Park, going shopping in Milton Keynes or going for leisurely trips to Leighton Buzzard Garden Centre.

Mealtimes are also a highlight of our days, where freshly prepared favourites that cater to people’s likes, dislikes, dietary needs and cultural preferences are lovingly created by our catering team.

Compassionate people-focused care

Water Hall - Excel Care-3672.jpgAt Water Hall, we are proud of our outstanding personalised approach to care. With team members who support those living with long-term conditions that require specialist care, we have created a compassionate and supportive atmosphere where the wellbeing and welfare of residents always comes first.

We go out of our way to get to know each and every person in our home, building a strong series of insights that guide us in how to care for them, what they are interested in and their state of health. It helps us give targeted care and create new opportunities for each person, giving them the best quality of life we can.

As you’d expect from a family-owned and run care home, families are central to all we do and we make sure they’re included in their loved one’s life as much as possible. We host regular meetings for relatives and residents to discuss progress and hear their feedback. Our door is always open and family and friends often join us for mealtimes, activities and celebrations. We understand that placing a relative in care can be difficult, so we help families find peace of mind knowing their loved one is safe, happy and cherished.

We strive to ensure dignity, respect and independence are always at the heart of our values. In this way, we enable and support residents to live rich, fulfilling lives in a comfortable, positive environment supported by a sensitive, compassionate team. Water Hall is a place of joy, friendship and laughter.
