Sweyne Court Care Home, in Rayleigh, Essex, has been shortlisted for not one, but two prestigious, national awards. The Caring UK Awards are now in their third year and the home has beaten off competition from hundreds of others across the UK to be shortlisted for the Excellence and Innovation in Dementia Care and Dementia Team of the Year awards.
To get to this stage, the care home was initially nominated for the Excellence and Innovation in Dementia Care award. The team from the awards then came to interview team members, residents and relatives to get an idea of what life at Sweyne Court is like. This visit was then used to shortlist the homes in the category.
Not only did Sweyne Court pass this with flying colours to secure a shortlist spot, but the judge was so impressed that they nominated the home for the Dementia Team of the year award too!
The awards, which run in conjunction with leading care industry magazine, Caring UK, take place next Friday (15th November). During this prestigious ceremony, the judges will select a winner from the seven nominees in each category, giving Sweyne Court the opportunity to pick up two awards on the night.
These nominations not only highlight the quality of care that the team at Sweyne court provide to residents but also how they work and function together, always putting the needs of others before them and communicating effectively to ensure issues are dealt with promptly.
Hayley Gibbs, Home Manager of Sweyne Court said, “We feel proud and overwhelmed to be shortlisted for two very exciting national awards. Taking part and sharing everyone’s triumphs and achievements throughout the last year will be an honour for us and we’re looking forward to the future ahead!”
Please join us in wishing the team at Sweyne Court the best of luck at the awards ceremony next week. You should all be very proud and whether you take home a trophy or not, you’re winners in our eyes!
