DEMENTIA STRATEGY LAUNCH 8TH DECEMBER 2010
Within the next 30 years the number of people with dementia is expected to rise to 1.4 million. Excelcare associated Care Homes provide both social and nursing care to people with dementia type illnesses in locations across South East London and throughout Essex, Cambridge and Milton Keynes.
Helping people to live with dementia is fast becoming our core business and we believe it is essential to provide the most up to date professional care possible. However, care must be tailored to the individual and demonstrated through the use of person centred care plans and a commitment to research and evidenced based practice. Many of our Managers have, or are working towards, Diploma’s in dementia care; one even has a Masters Degree in dementia care. We ensure best practice by sharing information gleaned from leaders in the field and tailoring it to the individual needs and wishes of our residents.
The launch of the Dementia Strategy is our public commitment to demonstrate that we have a commitment to providing a care strategy which will assist residents with dementia to live the most fulfilling life they can.
