Hunters Down Care Centre in Huntingdon was the setting for a very special presentation on 20th October. Staff, residents, friends, relatives, the Deputy Mayor of Huntingdon Councillor Jennifer Sarabia and local schoolchildren gathered to attend a presentation of cheques to The Prince’s Trust. Throughout July, various Excelcare Homes in both the Cambridge and Milton Keynes regions had been busy raising funds for the Trust by doing, amongst other things, a sponsored walk; a parachute jump and a sponsored car wash. The brave activities co-ordinator from Waterhall Care Centre even had his legs waxed! The Homes raised a combined total of £1400.00 which was accepted with thanks by The Prince’s Trust representative, Dawn Thurston. Sandie Oxborrow, Development Manager from Cambridge and Nichola Bonner, General Operations Manager from the Willows Care Centre handed Dawn the cheques while Alan Haywood, Manager from Dovecote Manor received Certificates for participating Homes in the Milton Keynes region and Lisa Dennis, Manager at Hunters Down, accepted certificates for those Homes in the Cambridge region who had helped with the fundraising.
