Mother and daughter raise money for Alzheimer’s charity
A loving granddaughter from Gidea Park has commemorated her Nan
Emma Gill, 25, has raised money for the charity Alzheimer’s Society by taking part in a Memory Walk recently in Thorndon County Park, Ilford.
She said: “My Nan was always a great inspiration to me and she always will be”.
Emma’s had suffered from the disease for the last five years of her life before she died in July last year.
It was because of her Nanny Jines that she wanted to work with Alzheimer patients and so has been working at the Sherrell House Care Centre in Chigwell for the past three years.
Emma ran alongside her mum Tracey Jines, 48, from Marks gate, for the charity and has run for Cancer Research UK and last year she climbed Mount Snowdon for Marie Curie Cancer.
Emma and her mum raised £150 for the Alzheimer’s Society and added: “Nanny is missed by all the family”.

Excelcare Chef of the Year
On Wednesday 23rd October, 3663 held their annual Excelcare Chef of the Year competition whereby 5 staff members competed for the title. 3663 are very proud to support this competition and this year saw some fantastic creations that really confirmed the quality of cooking in our care industry – something that rarely gets praise in our media. The competition was very close and the quality and presentation of the finished dishes would not have looked out of place in a Michelin star restaurant – A testament to each chef’s dedication and effort. Congratulations to the winner, Anthony Tilley from our Milton Keynes region and finalists Velica Cozma (Cambridge region), Annett Tait (London region), Anna Selversparra (Essex region) and Patricia Cannon (London Supporting People region). They have certainly raised the bar for next year’s finalists.
