Residents and team members of Etheldred House got up close and personal with nature last week during a trip to Wicken Fen Reserve in Cambridge. Observing the array of wildlife and plants the reserve had to offer was interesting for all and with information boards on display around the site, residents took the opportunity to learn more about the inhabitants of the 254 hectacre biological site. Other areas of interest included a large windmill where residents stopped and were fascinated at how well the structure had been maintained despite it’s standing age.
All members on the trip then stopped at one of the river banks where they enjoyed the relaxing scenery and birdsong from the surrounding trees. After exploring the whole reserve and working up an appetite, the team rested at the onsite café where they shared stories from the day and sampled the local homemade ice cream.
