Modern, bright and airy, Park Avenue is a family-owned and run care home situated in a leafy residential area of Bromley.

Our committed and dedicated team provides a range of respite care and long-term residential care, residential dementia care, frail nursing care, nursing dementia care and end of life care in a warm and welcoming environment, supporting your loved ones with the same respect and kindness we show to our own family members.

Everything we do is focused on giving the special individuals who live with us freedom of choice, supporting their independence and ensuring they have a high quality of life.

Our dedication to giving the very best individual care has seen us achieve Platinum status in the Gold Standards Framework programme.

We are also very much part of our local community so, as well as our team members hailing from nearby areas such as Petts Wood, Beckenham and Catford, we regularly welcome visits from neighbouring school children and other organisations as well as day trips out to local attractions.

“My mum has been at Park Avenue for a year now and I could not be happier. The care is fantastic. There are regular activities and she is always treated as an individual. Coping with dementia is very hard but whenever I visit I find her happy and relaxed, which gives me peace of mind.”

“I like the continuity with the staff. I don’t feel guilty if I can’t visit Mum every day as I know there are activities going on that she will like.”

“It’s a lovely atmosphere, very friendly. He’s well looked after, so I don’t feel anxious when I leave him. And most importantly, I can bring Bobby the poodle to visit every day!”

“Since being in the home my dad has been very happy. The staff couldn’t be friendlier. I’m so happy my father is being looked after so well. Thank you, my mind is at rest.”

Relative of Resident

“The staff were amazing; so kind to us and Dad. They looked after him so well and were there for us when he died. If you are thinking of using Park Avenue for a relative, I would definitely recommend them.”

"I was once asked if I ever believed in angels. Now my answer would be: ‘I have seen many at Park Avenue Care Home. Thank you for caring for my mum. I will never ever forget each and every one of you. From the bottom of my heart – and from my family – thank you to you all."

Services and Support
Dedicated to enabling individual choice

Excel Care - Park View - Draft-1217.jpgPark Avenue is a purpose-built, modern care home designed to enable people to live as independently as possible, within a safe and comfortable environment

From day one we really listen to residents and those people who are most important in their lives, so we can quickly understand their wants and needs. It is this detailed knowledge, along with our close bonds, that inform the care that our kind and compassionate team gives on a daily basis.

We have a variety of communal and quiet spaces where residents can choose to spend their time; whether it’s chatting with friends, catching up with a favourite programme on the TV or sitting in our beautiful, tranquil gardens feeding the birds and squirrels – there is a place for everyone.

Our recently refurbished bedrooms have en-suite facilities for privacy and independence. We encourage people to personalise their room with photographs, ornaments, momentos and other personal belongings to make it feel cosy and familiar and pet visits are actively encouraged.

Mealtimes are especially important at Park Avenue. Residents can choose from their favourite dishes which are lovingly prepared within the home by our catering team, who also ensure specific dietary needs and cultural preferences are adhered to.

We all enjoy Fruity Fridays, where deliciously nutritious smoothies made from a variety of fresh fruits are on offer. On birthdays there are cakes and the tearoom is available for booking if anyone wishes to celebrate privately with family and friends.

We are proud that Park Avenue is an engaging and fulfilling place to live.

Embracing every day

Excel Care - Park View - PA donuts cropped.jpgWe strive to make Park Avenue a diverse and stimulating place to live and believe in going the extra mile to make residents feel loved and special.

With a detailed knowledge of the residents’ existing hobbies, as well as new things they might like to try, we organise an array of different activities and events to stimulate the senses and bring laughter and fun to their days.

The people who live here enjoy regular sessions with our visiting physiotherapist to work on mobility and confidence-building exercises.

We also organise frequent visits by local schoolchildren, therapy dogs, farm animals, entertainers and other members of the community and residents enjoy a wide range of imaginative activities, such as arts and crafts with external experts, Creative Mojo.

Residents can also enjoy gardening, take part in gentle exercise or simply sit on the patio when the weather’s kind to us.

Our popular afternoon teas in the tearoom are a highlight for many, as is taking part in simple pleasures such as feeding the birds and squirrels that visit our garden.

A holistic approach to care

Excel Care - John dancing PA.jpgAt Park Avenue, our skilled and experienced team members are confident in dealing with a range of complex health and care needs and embrace current research on the most effective and successful approach to caring for people living with dementia.

Our new Activities Club is a fantastic space where crafts, sewing and other handiwork kits are available to stimulate memory and promote wellbeing.

We also use sensory stimulation to promote relaxation and develop a sense of wellbeing in those living with advanced dementia. Many residents benefit from the research-backed holistic dementia care programme called Namaste, with techniques based on touch and comfort, music and aromatherapy to help improve quality of life.

Along with residents, their families play an active part in home life too. To ensure families are always kept involved and up to date, we run bi-monthly relatives’ groups. This provides an opportunity to get together over a cuppa and have a chat about ideas, upcoming improvements and ask any questions they may have.

We are very proud that Park Avenue has been awarded Platinum status by the Gold Standards Framework for end of life care – a credit to our highly skilled team members who ensure residents receive the very best care and live as comfortably and happily as possible.
