We are also a designated provider of care for people, requiring continuing care; this includes Palliative Care and we have a good working relationship with the local hospice.
We are using the New Electronic Resident Information System – ABLYSS. Very helpful in recording, storing, monitoring and auditing care for our residents.

“I would just like to say a very big thank you to all the staff at Castlebar for the care and thought that you gave to Mum (& all the residents) at her stay with you.
“Mum was so very happy there and had such a good life there. She enjoyed all the entertainment and all the outings and enjoyed her painting and drawing (and almost dancing)…and for all being there when I needed you”
“Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciated the kindness shown to my father and the care that was given to him by the staff at such a time. The considerate and respectful way my father was treated was highly commendable.
I have found the general attitude of you all very helpful and accommodating.”
“Think it’s a very good home, a great place to be, all staff are happy to help you. Wonderful food. I would not want to be anywhere else. I made an excellent choice, I like my room.”
“It’s very nice, people are good looking after me very well. I’m getting better everyday. Just want to say thanks to all staff working at Castlebar, you make me happy.”
“Thank you for all your help and support that you gave my mum over the last few months. Myself and my family hold treasured memories at the lovely times we spent with her at Castlebar…The care you gave her was second to none and we know she really appreciated it, as we do to. She will be greatly missed.”
“When people ask me what made me choose to work with people living with dementia, I always answer that 100% is vocational… When I get home after a days work I feel fulfilled with contentment because a person had the care deserved delivered.”
Josephina Esteve (SHCA dementia residential unit)
“As a relatively new manager I am impressed by the huge investment undertaken by Excelcare in terms of refurbishment, equipment and training, which is of tremendous benefit in improving the quality of care the residents receive.”
“As always, the amount of time and effort Sue and her team put into this event was amazing. This was seen in the decorations & entertainment arrangements, which provided a positive experience for the residents and relatives.”
Jane Palmer, Daughter
“I am constantly amazed by the energy, enthusiasm and creativity that Sue brings to the wonderful life-enhancing events. I say with complete confidence that my father had a great time as did we, in fact, Dad was wondering why it wasn’t happening the day after. Every detail was perfect; the decoration, the outfits, the layout of the rooms, the food, drinks and most of all, the goodwill shown by all. So many happy faces, a treat!”
