We have recently completed the Gold Standard Framework programme for End of Life Care.
We are also a designated provider of care for people, requiring continuing care; this includes Palliative Care and we have a good working relationship with the local hospice.
We are using the New Electronic Resident Information System – ABLYSS. Very helpful in recording, storing, monitoring and auditing care for our residents.

“Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciated the kindness shown to my father and the care that was given to him by the staff at such a time. The considerate and respectful way my father was treated was highly commendable.
I have found the general attitude of you all very helpful and accommodating.”
“Think it’s a very good home, a great place to be, all staff are happy to help you. Wonderful food. I would not want to be anywhere else. I made an excellent choice, I like my room.”

“Thank you for all your help and support that you gave my mum over the last few months. Myself and my family hold treasured memories at the lovely times we spent with her at Castlebar…The care you gave her was second to none and we know she really appreciated it, as we do to. She will be greatly missed.”
“When people ask me what made me choose to work with people living with dementia, I always answer that 100% is vocational… When I get home after a days work I feel fulfilled with contentment because a person had the care deserved delivered.”
Josephina Esteve (SHCA dementia residential unit)
“As a relatively new manager I am impressed by the huge investment undertaken by Excelcare in terms of refurbishment, equipment and training, which is of tremendous benefit in improving the quality of care the residents receive.”
