A modern, purpose-built care home situated in a quiet road, close to Dovercourt seafront, Lime Court Care Home & Day Centre offers respite care and long-term care in an engaging and welcoming home where the people who live here are supported to do things that they love.

Our caring team, many of whom live in local areas such as Harwich, Dovercourt and Colchester, provide thoughtful, tender care and support to people who require day care, residential care, residential dementia care and end of life care.

We are proud of our reputation for passion and excellence, both in the quality of the care we provide as well as in our extensive facilities.

At Lime Court, we provide a range of opportunities to socialise, keep active and enjoy wonderful nutritious meals – all with the aim of ensuring our residents remain happy, engaged and healthy.

“Words cannot express our gratitude for caring for mum over the past three or so years. You have all been amazing and should be very proud of yourselves – she couldn’t have been more spoilt! We can’t praise each and every one of you enough. Thank you from the bottom of our heart.”

“The words ‘thank you’ seem a little meagre when we are talking about the work you all do. What we really want to say is we are so very grateful to each of you for the love and care shown towards Dad. We saw and heard reassuring patience and love towards residents while sitting quietly with Dad. You are special people to do what you do so well. You really are like a family.”

Relative of Resident

“You have been so good in showing mum love, care, kindness and respect. In all those nine years, we have known that Mum was safe, warm and loved. We as her family cannot thank you enough. I just cannot find words to say what we feel. You all became part of our family and mum’s.”

“Thank you and all your staff for the care and compassion you showed towards mum whilst in your care. All of your staff have been amazing. I am sure all the other families appreciate all your hard work. Thank you again.”

Putting the needs of our residents first

Lime Court - Excel Care-6330.jpgThe commitment of our team members and the family-run atmosphere are what separates Lime Court from other care homes. The warmth, knowledge and dedication to providing high-quality care to the people who live here, has created a positive and happy atmosphere that supports residents’ wellbeing and comfort.

Our active involvement in new initiatives that further improve the residents’ quality of life has seen great results. We were among the first home to pilot the ‘Food First’ programme to boost nutrition and we regularly promote fun ways to keep fit through various activities and our annual Sports Day, which is enjoyed by residents, visitors and team members alike!

When it comes to the wellbeing of the animal-lovers amongst us, our regular visits from pets are always sure to bring smiles and laughter.

Our passionate and sensitive approach to caring for each individual resident makes living at Lime Court a comfortable and happy time, where their needs and interests are at the heart of all we do.

An uplifting place to live

Lime Court - Excel Care-6263.jpgLime Court’s design creates a pleasant and attractive environment in which to spend your days enjoying life. Whether it’s coming together and socialising in one of our five lounge areas or spending time in a quiet space, residents can freely choose how they want to spend their time. When the weather is good, our side garden and patio are perfect places to enjoy the great outdoors.

Mealtimes are sociable times too and our well-lit, spacious, central dining room supports shared time and friendship building. We are very proud of our catering team, who carefully tailor menus to residents’ requests and needs – producing appetising, healthy dishes which support on-going nourishment and enjoyment.

Our Day Centre is an initiative that helps residents to maintain close links with their local community, whilst enabling local elderly people to come and spend time with us any day of the week. With a variety of engaging and fun activities and events on offer, as well as hearty cooked lunches and afternoon tea – there’s always something going on for daycare members to enjoy.

An active part of our local community

Lime Court - Excel Care-6405.jpgWe believe health and happiness are closely linked, so we make sure Lime Court is a place that encourages meaningful engagement, supports existing and new interests and promotes positive interaction.

In partnership with the residents, we organise interesting day trips, ranging from visits to the local theatre and Harwich Sing choir concerts, to pub lunches, trips to the seaside and cinema trips.

We make our own fun at Lime Court too, with lots of activities including film afternoons, baking classes, book club, bingo, quiz nights, reminiscence therapy, exercise classes and a brilliant annual sports day.

Our Lifestyle Coordinators also ensure there are a range of activities and items which are particularly beneficial to people living with dementia. These include reminiscence sessions using an iPad and special dementia-friendly computer equipment, PAT dog visits, rummage boxes and fiddle mittens which provide engaging sensory experiences.

We have a wide range of groups and people who visit the residents too. Wild Science Petting Zoo – bring a variety of frogs, reptiles and petting animals – local primary school and high school students get involved with games and hairdressers and therapists bring their skills in from the outside world. It makes for a fun and lively atmosphere that supports the residents to stay happy and engaged.
