Brook House is a 33 bedded Care Home, which offers a home-from-home atmosphere with the assurance of a safe environment. We are proud to offer care with integrity. Closely situated to the well-known, historic Mill Road in Cambridge, people visit the exciting range of unique shops as well as traditional favourites. Brook House provides individual care for the elderly with residential and dementia needs. All areas of the home are accessible to wheelchair users. Brook House has four units within the home spread across two floors. The home is within walking distance of local shops, which have a wide range of facilities including a post office, banks, supermarkets and bakers, alongside pubs, restaurants, cafes as well as a market that opens Monday to Sunday. Brook House is set near the famous Cambridge University Colleges. There is a local bus service to the Grafton Centre which hosts a large section of modern shops under cover.

Home Manager – Anca Roman Anca started at Brook House as Home Manager on the 1st November 2012, prior to this Anca has been working at Buchan House Care Centre since November 2008 as a Team Leader and was promoted to Deputy Manager in May 2012. Anca has an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, as well as a Level 5 in Management and Leadership. Deputy Manager – Jessy John Jessy joined Brook House in January 2013 as Deputy Manager and has been working for Excelcare since September 2005. Jessy has an NVQ level 2 and level 3 in Health and Social Care and also has a Dementia diploma. Jessy is currently working towards a level 5 diploma in Management and Leadership Skills. Jessy is responsible for the running of the home in the absence of the Home Manager.
At Brook House, we offer a wide range of exciting activities from Book Clubs, to Arts and Crafts, Chair Based Exercise Classes. We regularly receive visits from Music for Health and Peter Day, the Elvis Impersonator. Every couple of months, Pauline May brings its luxurious clothes shop into Brook House for residents and staff to browse through and buy treats. We go out on planned activities at least once a month for a pub lunch, to visit the Steam Train Museum, or to a Garden Centre. Brook House has a dedicated Activities Coordinator who regularly liaises with the people in our home to make sure everyone is enjoying the activities provided and taking any new suggestions for the future.
